A cooperation agreement on intellectual property was signed between China's State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and the State Intellectual Property Service of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyz IPO) in Dalian, a city in northeast China, on September 14, when Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Kyrgyz Prime Minister Almazbek Atambaev attended the ceremony.
The agreement provided that the two agencies would enforce and develop their partnership in IPR protection based on the principle of equivalence and mutual benefit. The cooperation would cover realms such as IPR protection and exploitation, legislation information, exchange of IPR practitioners and publications, personnel training and collaboration under the World Trade Organization and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
The document was signed by SIPO Commissioner Tian Lipu and Kyrgyz Foreign Minister R.Kazakbaev.
