China Intellectual Property Law Society recently held its 2012 general assembly in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. The event, where experts also discussed on potential changes to domestic IP laws, was co-hosted by Intellectual Property Teaching and Research Center under the Law school, IP School and International College of Renmin University.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Liu Chuntian, Executive Director of the Center and also Chairman of the Society, and was addressed by Yan Xiaohong, Deputy Director of the General Administration of Press and Publication. Yan appreciated the efforts of the participating professionals and scholars for the advice and recommendations to the third revision of the Copyright Law, while further highlighted IP and folk art protection. Topics inclusive of IP administrative law enforcement and IP-related damages and compensation were also discussed during the meeting.
The event was attended by more than 340 representatives from competent authorities, enterprises, universities and research institutions.
