Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Tian Lipu recently released that SIPO would make full use of patent system and resources to develop market-oriented IPR information service. Meanwhile, the agency will encourage the public to invest in IPR informationization in a bid to accelerate business innovation and upgrading.

At the China Patent Information Annual Meeting 2012 held lately, Tian Lipu pointed out that high-level patent information service would play an important role in promoting IPR creation, use, protection and management. And patent information service also plays an irreplaceable role in helping enterprises to clarify research direction, raise R&D efficiency and file and harvest self-owned IPRs.

According to Tian, with the improvement of innovation and R&D level and the need of exploring overseas market, more and more industries and businesses began to pay more attention to IPRs. The need of patent information in the market showed a significant upward trend and patent information has become a kind of strategic resource in raising enterprises’ competitiveness and enhancing enterprises’ technological innovation ability.

Besides, the SIPO will also better IPR investment and financing service to help businesses to well utilize IPR resources.
