The Symposium on commemorating the 30th Anniversary of Trademark Law was held in the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) on the afternoon of August 22. SPC Vice President Xi Xiaoming attended and delivered the conference. He required local people’s courts and IPR judges to gradually improve trademark trial work and contribute more to the economic and social development as well as the in-depth implementation of the National IPR Strategy.

Xi Xiaoming put forward that in the past thirty years, with the support of relevant agencies and the society, people’s courts earnestly fulfilled trademark judicial protection duty, fully exerted the functional role of trademark trial, continually enhanced trademark judicial protection, gradually improved trademark judicial protection system, continued to innovate on trademark trial theories and eventually made notable achievements in trademark trial work.

Xi Xiaoming emphasized that the people’s courts gained rich experience on trademark trial in the past thirty years. First, trademark trial work must concentrate on and serve the overall interests; second, the people’s courts must put law enforcement and case settlement at the first place; third, the people’s courts must insist on emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts; and the fourth, the courts must pay much attention to research work and trial theory innovation.
