On July 9, the reporter learnt from the State Forestry Administration that the agency decided to invest more in IPR creation and had deployed 240 million yuan with a rise of 33% to meet the requirements of economic and social development.
According to relevant principals from the State Forestry Administration, the agency has arranged 81 special scientific programmes to enhance IPR creation and realize a series of S&T innovation.
In recent years, the State Forestry Administration paid much attention to IPR work. The competent authority issued Guidance on Implementing National IPR Strategy Outline, worked out the Twelfth Five-Year Development Plan for Forestry IPR, built forestry IPR database and public information service platform, ignited study on IPR early-warning mechanism in key forestry areas, publicized Forestry IPR Annual Report, conducted IPR pilot work in forestry enterprises and public institutions, and launched projects on promoting forestry patent technology industrialization. In terms of IPR creation, only in 2011, the granted domestic patents in forestry reached 14103 pieces, up 9%; applications for forestry plant new variety rights were 862, of which 331 were granted with new plant variety rights; and applications for forestry product geographic indications were 148 items, rising by 124%.
